Why is the Microfibre made in China?
🌎Norwex own their own factory in China. We only manufacture our cloths there, not our cleaning products. Additionally, we own the factory so there is also no issue with unfair working conditions, etc. The workers there have the same rights, pay scales, holidays etc that they would have if they were here, Europe , America or Canada. The main reason China was chosen is because they are the leaders in textiles and they have the technology to make our amazing cloths which is not available elsewhere.
🌎We are aware of the sustainability issues with the use of palm oil. The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) was formed to bring oil producers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other stakeholders together to improve the sustainability of palm oil production. Norwex adopted commitments to purchase exclusively deforestation-free and peat-free palm oil. As of 2016, more than 60 percent of palm oil traded globally was covered by such commitments—a huge change from before. As more companies make deforestation-free commitments, they will influence decisions made further up the supply chain by traders and producers. Unfortunately, there is not a perfect process or regulation in place in current supply chains of Palm Oil production. When we use palm oil, we ask for supply chain information to ensure that we are purchasing from Responsible suppliers who are aware of the issue and who can certify to us that the palm oil we source from them is sourced responsibly and sustainably.
